Pictured here is William Samela (far left), who had the honor of presenting the award. At the center is an incredible woman, holding the award given in honor of Richie Perdew—a remarkable man who played a vital role in our foundation. Richie, who lost his son a few years before Justin, established a scholarship at Iona Prep and was deeply involved in New Rochelle Little League and so much more. His dedication and heart touched so many of us over the years.
Next to her is her son Daniel (second from the left), a dedicated infectious disease doctor, and on the far right is her daughter-in-law Emma, who has shown immense strength after the recent loss of her husband, a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon Dr. Joshua Burack. Their family has been lifelong friends—40 years of unwavering support and kindness. Both Richie and Emma’s husband were instrumental in our foundation’s journey, always there when we needed them.
We’re grateful to honor their legacies and the lasting impact they’ve made. 💙
